‘What is all that jibba jabba’ you ask? Why, it’s the National Knit a Sweater in a Month 2nd annual event. I’m a joiner – even though I am in another nation altogether.
I did cheat a little, in that I had cast on for this pullover 2 days before I discovered this challenge. Here is where I am tonight.
Left side of the front is complete up to the shoulder decrease. Let’s just say that, even with 3 extra inches of knitting before I split for the V, there is a vast difference between a deep V on this model and on a chesty number like myself. Vast people. It’s a good thing I was planning on wearing this with a tank top anyways.
I made major progress on this while watching Casino Royale with my Mom the other night. Whoo! I am late to the welcome party for Daniel Craig (I grew up on Roger Moore), but wow. Well cast. Definitely a manly choice for this new Bond. The stockinette really let me keep my eyes on the screen. Aside from the eye candy, I found this movie engrossing. It wasn’t relying on massive displays of fire power or tawdry ladies. The last Bond I had watched before this was parts of GoldenEye and that was pure drivel.
Speaking of movies…look at the result of tonight’s show.
I saw Rendition. Intense. Powerful. Shattering. Riveting. That welt is where I was biting my finger for the last 15-20 minutes because I just couldn’t take it anymore. STRESSFULL! One of the best movies I have seen in some time.*
When I got home my heart rate was still ludicrously high. Maybe I could take a lesson from this guy:
Can’t quite tell what you’re looking at? Here you go.
Seriously. We should be so lucky.
*I was trying to think of the last movie I found this moving and kept thinking: Babel. I read through Rendition’s site — same Producer.
Love the colour of your sweater – the yarn looks nice!
And I haven’t seen Casino Royale mostly on principle – I think the only James Bond is Sean Connery – and yes, I am a little young to have seen them on anything but a VCR, but to me, he was the quintessential Bond…
I cannot believe you did that to your hand by biting! I thought maybe it was too much knitting or something – so maybe that’s a movie I should be considering… I was taken with Babel, too, so this one is on my list… after American Gangster and a second run at Bee Movie…
The sweater is looking good! I am not big in the chest, but a friend of mine is and once we decided to switch shirts. I was wearing a low cut number like that and let’s just say, we never switched again. There is nothing like seeing the nice top you were wearing turn into something really hot on someone else.
Sounds like a really good movie if it can make you do that to yourself without realizing it!
Great sweater (love that colour) and such an adorable cat. I miss having pets in the house, they are just so cute!
(my reply to your comment – I’ll post here and on my blog in case anyone else is interested)
Thanks: I can’t remember for certain, but I think it was ‘grape heather’ or ‘purple heather’ Peruvian Highland Wool from elann.com. As it’s a discount yarn, they don’t always have all the colours in stock, but they get them in quite frequently.
Oh my goodness girl your are knitting this up so fast! It’s a very pretty pink too. This reminds me of one of my first sweater colors that I (tried to knit) .LOL
Hello kitty!
I totally said no way to DC being the new Bond but am a total convert – yowza! He’s the hottest Bond ever.
Nice sweater you’ve got going!
My gosh, the cat cuteness! I’m sending a big and deep belly rub over!
Your sweater is going to look fantastic, especially in this beautiful colourway that you chose!
And yay for Daniel Craig – he’s a hottie, ain’t he?
What a great sweater!
I wish I could relax like your kitty!
Casino Royale – I thought I’d hate it since I grew up on Bond but I was (very) pleasantly surprised. Daniel C. is a total hottie – and made a perfect Bond, IMHO. ;o)
