It is June already!? Where exactly does all of the time go? I am at a complete loss by how quickly PS2 is flying by.
Ummmmm I still have projects
and yarn from the Feb/March on the go or not even cast on yet. Ai yi yi.
So Lolly has posed a few questions on her blog:
Did you reach your pink, green, and yellow goals?
That would be a resounding: NO. Two of my projects haven’t even been cast on yet. 😦 And I only receieved 3 more sets of yarn in this colour series this week. Looks like PS2 will be going well past the date for me.
What are you planning for the black, red, and metallics months of June and July?
I haven’t made any plans. I wasn’t expecting to get here so soon! Also, I tend to think of these colours as winter shades – no idea why. So…I will be challenging myself and my preset colour parameters to come up with some projects this time around. Black and red are colours I have a lot of in my closet…but oddly enough, not in yarn. I will definitely be keeping an eye open for yarns in these shades at the Victoria Fibre Fest in 5 more sleeps!! 1st Fibre Festival ever!!
Since black and red are such powerful colours for the 1st Nations people here on the West Coast, and I am Tsimshian, I might just return to the design I began a loooong time ago — a black poncho with a red raven. Then again, I could finally make myself a button blanket…(my family crest is Killer Whale and Bear)
On an unrelated topic: Yesterday I got fish for our Aquarium at work and 2 for my fountain in the back yard. Last night I left them happily eating mosquito larvae (disgusting!) and this morning when I checked on them GONE! Holy cat fish!! The poor things. I thought they would be around a bit longer than half an evening. I guess I am going to have to get a screen cover before I add fish again. (If it is any consolation to anyone they were feeder fish – what a horrible name – doesn’t help me feel much better) There are so many potential culprits here – our own cats, the neighborhood “bad cat” who is always a presence waiting to pounce on one of our cats and be set upon by Kira, raccoons, Stellar Jays, crows, rats (sick I know – but if you search my archives you will find a truly sickening story about rats) And, well, I guess they could have jumped to their own demise and then been a snack for someone.
ETA: They were hiding under the filter – phew, fish guilt averted.
